I did something today that I don’t normally do.
Just a couple months back I started creating a business audit every single month, and today I sat down and really looked at all of my business audits for the past couple months.
And you know what I did, I eliminated a lot of places where I was spending so much money on. Now you might be sitting back and saying why would I even do that?

I did something rather unusual today. I took the day completely off from business..and not the kind of “off” where you step away from the computer and are still thinking of a killer strategy to drive traffic to your website.
I took the day off, well, after a couple emails….. and headed Downtown. I sat at a coffee shop watching the world outside as I sipped my coffee. I watched people run to catch the trains..busy on their cell phones without a time to breathe..

Here’s something that I learned about life and business today..
Sometimes things will just go wrong and everything will fall apart, it’s inevitable even if you believe you’ve got everything in place. What a positive note, eh?
I got up this morning to change my squeeze page, well I did that and when I went to put it in with my tracker, guess what?
My english somehow got translated into Hebrew! Yep, that’s right and I spent an hour trying to figure out what the H*** was going on..

The point of this is not to say well, this personality types are better with success so..tough luck..But, just to make you think about your own personality and if there’s any conflict between what you naturally function well with and what you are trying to do.
I took the Gregorc style delineator test a couple weeks ago and found it pretty interesting. There are a million others out there but the reason Im taking about this one is..it’s the first that’s managed to get my attention. Can you guess by now..what my personality type is?

So I found this little test from the BBC website yesterday and I don’t think I’m a perfectionist at all. I know of people who line up the edge of the ruler for 5 minutes before drawing a line and I’m more freestyle so I definitely am not a perfectionist.
So, i took this test
www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/mind/surveys/perfectionism/
And..Let’s just say I think their test isn’t very accurate. C’mon, I’m not THAT much a perfectionist..
But who knows you may finally find a reason as to why
. you haven’t created your own product yet

In life, here’s my philosophy..
Breakthrough happens when you keep trying, when you keep pushing..when you keep trying different combinations..
Very much like how the first lightbulb was made. To a lot of people, the idea is the breakthrough and then they stop….that’s it…We all have great ideas but often breakthroughs happen when people run with the ideas, work on it (give speeches and inspire others), come up with new experiments and devices…that is breakthrough..

Scenario: I’m going to make the smallest, best remote control ever! And, I’ll do it all myself so when I’m done..the world is going to look at me and go “WOW! What a genius! did it all himself (or herself)”
Problem: It’s boring being alone..You’re going to be excited about your ideas for 5 days then you’ll get lonely working on it alone. (Ok, there are exceptions when you reach a different level of passion for it but when you do..you also realize the importance of having other brains around you..that can help you) And the song by Akon - Mr. Lonely will start becoming the theme song for a long time.

I had a realization last night (Uh oh, I hear ya!)..I was thinking of all of my online projects, the different ways I have tried to make money, the ideas I have had and so on. And, the biggest disconnect there is, is between ideas and execution. (I hope you can relate),
I usually have world changing ideas and they never get executed. It’s so easy to get an inspired idea and so darn hard to get the inspiration to do the work! (Can we say Friction?)

One thing that happened to me and surely it happens to all “newbies” is we often end up losing our confidence and underestimating ourselves because that’s what a few “successful people” do to us when we are new. Not everyone does it but if you hang out in IM forums, you are bound to meet some of these successes who are a little too full of themselves. (The kind of people you regret asking for help from..) I know it hurts and makes you feel bad. It is discouraging especially when all of us have areas of our expertise and successes. But, that just seems to be the nature of the game: People love judging others on their failures to make themselves feel good. It’s just human nature and you will find them everywhere not just in Business.

What do website hosting and car engines have in common?
I spent most of today debating whether I should move to a different host because I’ve been tempted by the cheap offers coming up lately. I pay about $10/month for my hosting from HostGator.
I saw a couple offers from reliable hosts rated pretty high for as low as $5.95 a month, Hey! That’s cutting my costs into half! Look, I am by no means evangelizing hostgator, I don’t think they are the perfect company to set foot on the earth. I’m sure there are much better companies out there but it is worth it? Sometimes, it may not be.
